Yeah, that is definitely one of the more disappointing things about the lore in FFX in regards to the summoners. It's a really important concept in the plot, and they throw in some interesting lines from the characters given their role in the story but then...never actually go into it at all and it is really frustrating because all we're left doing then is just speculating a ton. 0_0; To make matters even odder, apparently Summoners didn't just occur on account of Sin and the Fayth since evidently Lenne in FFX-2 was one I think and she was from before Sin's timeframe...and I am fairly certain they never explained how she was one then either (maybe people were just born with the ability if they choose to practice it or something? Since it seems like not everyone has the capacity, but evidently a pop singer can be one randomly and it seems like if you can be a Summoner following Sin's arrival people sort of really want you to go on the piligrimage because the more Summoners going the more likely the chance of success but...yeah, they never really confirm it at all which is odd and just makes it feel like the lore is a bit incomplete).
I forgot some of those poses (yeah, totally would have preferred Lulu in that one too given how young Rikku is in the game 0_0;) and odd faces too. And totally forgot about the airship battle (although yeah, sounds like Cid was just being stingy with the missiles 0_0;).
Lolz, I think we've all been there with Kimahri. XD And in finding those warning signs a little later than would be helpful, lol.
I guess merchants are just always forever wanting to make a quick buck even in situations where it is really odd to do so. XD
I am also kind of surprised that Isaaru's little brother had no idea about the sacrifice angle--I remember that part of the game, but it always had me scratching my head since you would think growing up in Spira that would be a lot more common knowledge...even if people did try to shield children from all of the details. Particularly since he was going on the pilgrimage and everything with them. Then again, it was a bit odd that it took as long as it did for Tidus to put things too--I agree, I think probably them reversing him finding out about Jecht and what happens to the Summoners would have probably made the most sense from a story stance.
Love these posts still--I was laughing at some of the commentary throughout and some parts really did have me thinking about the game's story a bit more. :D
