I started replaying FFVII literally a day before the announced the remake. I was... so amused, as I had nearly forgotten everything in FFVII, went to bed thinking it would look so much better if everyone wasn't legos, and then... xD

However, I'm not really excited about the remake, largely because S-E has a bad habit of really numbing down VII. To start with, Midgar in the game is full of a diverse amount of body types, skin tones, and a lot of people who look like stereotypical punks or slumdwellers, but in the trailer, somehow... everyone is ultra stereotypically "pretty" and there's not a single punk or person with dirt on them in sight!

I find it curious how I rarely see some aspects of FFVII addressed as well. I was part of FF based forums ages ago, and I remember posts speculating on Tifa's bra-size and endless shipping wars, but nothing about how you literally start out the game as a terrorist group who bombs two reactors and kill, as reports in-game confirm, countless innocent people.

I can't wait to see how the modern gaming community handles that one, especially given their reaction to characters like Anders from Dragon Age, who at least had conviction and felt massive guilt... Cloud is just kind of like "I did what you asked, now give me money."

I just finished disc 1, so thoughts up until that point )

#behind on things, but... let's see, in the past few weeks... I had a summer class which went really quickly, I had to go to a funeral and deal with family fallout, had a terrible allergic reaction that made it so I couldn't sleep, then had to take too much medicine for it and KOed from medicine the first day, and... yeah, I'll try to be more on top of things now that it's over, lol.
